Tokyo is located in the center of Japan in the Kanto Region of the Northwest of Tokyo Bay. It is the captial city of Japan and is surrounded by Edogawa River and Chiba territory to the East, mountians and Yamanashi territory to the West, Tamagawa River and Kanagawa territory to the South and Saitama territory to the North.

Economy
Tokyo is Japan's leading industrial city. Huge and heavy industrail factories are located at Chiba, Kawasaki and Yokohama while Tokyo is mainly into light industry which includes book printing and the production of electronic devices. Tokyo is the home of the large offices of production sites scattered around the country, many of these are located at Marunouchi.
The North of Marunouchi is Otemachi where all the Japan's financial and insurance compaines are located. It is also the city of NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone). Tokyo is also the home of Tokyo Stock Exchange which is located in Kabutocho.
In 1980, Tokyo was affected by an economic boom when Japan developed an increase in the financial center against Europe and the United States. This affected the value of land and yen. By the early 1900's, the economy level decreased, but the real estate price stayed the most expensive and held a rank on the global leaderboard. In 1999, Tokyo recoverd from the economic boom.
Employment:
About 5.9 million were employed in Tokyo, that's 9.5% of Japan's total workforce. In 2005, over 375, 000 non-Japanese people were given a place to live in and 61% of them were workers.
In order for you to work in Japan, you need to have a residential visa status. If your visa of residence have certain jobs, then you need to apply it at the Municipal office. The 'Tokyo Employment Service Centre for Foreigners' is a place for foreigners who seek help in jobs. They provide both employees or businesses for non-Japanese people. The centre is supervised by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan. It is located at the 1st Basement, Roppongi Job Park, 3-2-21, Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo. The centre is also available in many different languages such as English, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese. If you have been working for at least 6 months, you don't need to pay that much money and you get rest days.
